Modern Interpretation
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, MLD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.
Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.
Many people choose to have extended sessions for various reasons. There may be several issues to address. You may wish to have the symmetry of relaxation therapies combined with detailed muscle treatment. For people who are tall or who are heavily muscled, an extended session may be better suited for you. And, there are many of you who simply wish to have the luxury of a vacation from life for awhile. If you are interested in having an Extended Session on your First Visit here, please allow two (2) full hours. Your massage rate will be $115. I will cover these details with you when you call.
This is our highest rated service! Prices begin at $250 for two people. You can choose dates and times by calling 256-426-6400. I highly recommend that you call a minimum of four weeks in advance.
Receipt of your deposit holds the reserved date for you.
If either of you are established clients, just mention this next time you're in the office. You can plan for your anniversary or birthdays or any other special occasion! Think: Graduation, Engagement, Wedding, Having a Baby (not literally here, of course...) , and the Anniversary of Anything!
In regards to anniversaries, any and every year is suitable.
Perhaps a gift card would be in order. We do cards for 1 - 12 sessions, weekly or monthly. Therapeutic massage is a gift from the heart. Relax with your dearest sweetums!
Or, goodness, please give her or him a card for the entire year and they can be treated every week or every month!
